I was wondering if any of you knew if I ran an X pipe if it would help eliminate any turbelance in the exhaust note, ie. slapping noise at full throttle. I have run 3 different mufflers in one year on my true dual and also gutted the cats. I currently have 2 1/2inch true dual with gutted cats and cherry bomb extreme mufflers. I Also am running an H-pipe, but I feel it isnt doing its job so well to help balance the two sides. My trucks exhaust is almost perfect, it starts mean and loud, and has limited drone at highway speeds and great flow and power, but when I am smashing down the throttle the exhaust goes everywhere and makes all sorts of weird noise. I almost feel that I should of went 3 inch to help allow for me air to get out of the motor, I think the 2.5inch is restrictive possibly hence the air is having a tough time squeezing out of the system. But anyway do you think if i ran an X pipe it would help? Its my last option because otherwise i may convert back to the a single 3 inch dual 2.5inch outlet again, i miss my old set ups mean consistent tone at full throttle.
Sounds to me like you need larger capacity mufflers. Larger mufflers will quiet it down some but will help eliminate some of the harsh and weird tones. True dual 2.5" with tiny mufflers isn't restrictive. A set of FM50 SUV or HD mufflers would have good capacity and still allow plenty of sound past.
I guess I am being too picky in that case, because I do not want to run a big muffler because then I wouldnt get the loud noise I love anymore, i guess you cant have really loud exhaust without loud weird noises, because I had run those Super 44's and those were pretty big mufflers compared to the Bullets and these Cherry Bombs, and the slapping noise wasnt as bad, but it just wasnt loud enough for me, but that is probably what it is.
X pipes will smooth out the tone and help get you the result you are after. You say you have gutted cats? Hollow cats create turbulence, which can often cause strange sounds.

His cats were not hollowed out before. I think he has a pipe through the ID of the cats, but not completely shure.
Is it as bad as the bullet setup? I watched those videos and the sound was real bad at WOT. I also watched your FM44 setup and it sounded pretty good I thought, but as you said, just not as loud.
Thank you Well the slapping is meatier because there chambered mufflers, so they have some sort of tin can noise to them, but I will post videos soon so you guys can compare with me.
