Steering Columns

I was told that Flaming River made great columns. I called a dealer (Magnum Force Racing in Campbell Ca) and was told they can't get the columns. They are waiting for two now, ordered 2-4 months ago. They told me to call Ididit. Wondering if anybody has input one way or the other. Ididit (All Ford in Campbell) was able to help me but I'm still interested in Flaming River.

I bought a Flaming River unit off of one of the Ebay Stores sellers. It was cheaper than anywhere else I could find and unpolished stainless steel, which I think they don't make anymore. It was new old stock from '06 and I bought last year. That's where I would look. There are a few on Ebay on any given day and they're usually in stock at one of the vendors. I got the 32" column and used a 2" drop in my '56. It and I fit well behind the 15" wheel now.

All Ford is right down the street, sort of, from me. Great bunch of folks and the "guard cat" is humongous although somewhat sleepy and probably not too effective.

Hey! Good to meet and talk with you Bob. The downside is that I opened one of your truck's doors. Now I have the next project to do after I get the whole engine/transmission thing worked out; redo the hinges on my doors. I never realized how smotthly they could open and close!

Hey Craig
I'm pleased to have met you and your son. Isn't that a great bug to get after seeing something done and the way it should be done? That's the way I felt for 20 yrs with my first 56. As I said the pleasure of meeting you was all mine. Keep in touch I will probably need more advise later. Bob

Thanks Earl
I've got an Ididit catalog. I'm going to Pleasanton sat. I've been asking around about both columns. Hopefully by then I will know which way to go. Bob
