Questions about my new 93 lightning

im bought a 93 lightning with alot of mods to the motor i dont know.
the EGR makes the truck run terrible so its perminatly blocked off. is this common? how do i fix this if it isnt common.

the chip that is running the computer has the cruse control disabled. thats fine with me but im still worryed cuz of the recall.

and the rear bumper isnt the duel 2" tube bumper. but a average full steel bumper like on a normal truck. is that an option? if not how can i get a new/used one?

lots more questions but ill leave it at this for now

Thank you for any of your help!

"Blurry 94" Can help you on the EGR Problem

Smitty Built made those tube bumpers for ford, Ford Discounted those a wile back. The best thing to do is look on ebay or go to the NLOC Site and look for one. www.nloc.net

The cruise control recall was for 1994-2002 F150s so it doesn't apply to your truck. The chip didn't disable the cruise control, they didn't do that then. Its either a blown fuse or something else is wrong with it.

The tube bumpers were not offered in 93 on those trucks.

Check to see that the wiring is connected to the CC servo and stop switch (mounted on the brake master cylinder). Also, make sure CC cable is connected between the servo and the throttle body.

The EGR valve shouldn't cause the engine to run poorly. Check to make sure the thermactor tube is connected and complete. There is also a vacuum line that goes to the valve as well.

Blurry94 thanks for your answers they helped the most!
i dont really know whats going on with the CC i looked and everything is fine ... so who knows? ill keep working on it to figure out whats going on.

as for the EGR all the vacuum lines are connected, but its not the stock throdelbody.

and topgun your right it was an option. does anybody know a place where you can check vin numbers and see what it was supposed to come out of the factory with? i was told you can take it to a ford dealer and they coud do it expecialy with the block castings.

Have you gotten your bumper issue resolved? If you got the tube one laying around I would be interested in it.
