In the process of heads, had heads redone at shop. Reinstalling heads and attempting to time the engine. I have followed the Haynes manual instructions and put 1 piston at TDC.
Issue
the manual says to align the keyways on the cam sprockets perpendicular to the valve cover surface on the head. when done the timing marks do not line up they are 180 degrees out.
if anyone has done this or has any insight it would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for your help.
I ended up getting directions from the Romeo Engine Plant.
The right method is crank timing mark @ 6 driver side cam @ 12 passenger side @ 10 then line up the marks on the gears with the chain marks.
