hello to all quick question 03 f250

hello, I have a truck that when cold has an erratic idle, and now the little engine light popped up. Once hot however, the erratic idle goes away..So Iputmy reader on it and up pops two codes..P1AEE and the P0008. Any idea whats going on..it's sumer time and as a teacher $$ is tight since we don't get paid over the summer... so I need to try to figure this out myself..thnaks in advance..
PS> yes I tried a search in the forums, but no inof so far..butI will keep trying..

Welcome to FTE. I haven't had to check up on a code yet, but searching the net after purchasing my rig I found a complete list of such codes. It may have been on a motorcraft site. I joined Helms publishing for a short time. Long enough to download alot of spec sheets and such from the factory service manuals. Mine aren't real organized at this point (multiple saved files) but, Thats probably the source I recall. Some one should be along in short order to be of more help. There are loads of very bright Techs subscribed to this site, it just takes awhile on week ends. Good hunting.

Some rigs have reported crank shaft position sensor problems. It seams to be somewhat common. Not sure what motor truck combo tho. It has sounded easy to replace in those situations, at any rate. Please fill in your rig specs under user cp sections (main header), Its very help full to any tech reading your post here.

It's very important to let us know what engine you have

Update: the local ford dealers, don't have this code (P0008) and (P1AEE) anywhere..we called in some favors to find out if the dealers have an idea and it's not in their system. So I am calling on all the skill and knowledge of this board. thanks.

A quick google search shows a bunch of other people getting the same codes, and the common factor is a Hypertech tuner/scanner.

Is your reader a Hypertech, and if so, did you program the vehicle with a Hypertech?
