Excellent question. You don't want that flapping around on you too much.

I have 6 friends holding it down while I drive.
They aren't my good friends....just friends who will do the job.

In all actuality, the tent comes down in under 10 minutes.
It's really simple.
And it actually fits back into the bag that it originally came it.
It's an over-sized stuff bag (Or so they say) and I never have to roll it back up like it originally was.
Everything fit back in perfect.

I'm really impressed with this system.

Plus, for $179 plus shipping....not a bad price for a tent at all.

I have 2 questions, where did you get it, and is that a 6.5 ft bed?

It is a 6.5 ft bed.
And if you look anywhere, (autoanything.com, trucktents.com, or any acc. site) they all have it at the same price.
If I'm not mistaken, autoanything.com just sent me an email about free shipping with any purchase over $150.

Or, just look up camp-right.com and they will have links to where you can buy it.

And I just got my mattress in the mail today and I will be test filling it in a few minutes.

I got one of those for my Avalanche! Great investment! (Pretty cool; since I have a Mid-Gate I can access the interior of the truck from inside the tent. Plus, if it gets hot in it I can turn on the truck's AC. It's like the freakin' Taj Mahal! )

It looks great on your truck. Get a Bedrug (I added one) and you'll have a great camping setup!

I have always liked them things but never bit the bullet to get one. I have a black truck to and I was always afraid it would scratch it. Let us know how it does in the long run.

So to update anyone who was interested.... I went on a nice vacation a while ago and used this tent quite a bit. It worked like a charm, went through 2 rainy nights without any drips, and attracts quite a bit of attention from anyone who sees it.

Also, after using it for 5 days (so...5 set-ups, and 5 take downs), everything worked great, was easy to put back in the bag, and didn't leave any scratch, blemish, or marking at all.

And, everything (mattress, tent, sleeping bag, and 1 pillow, fit into the blue bin you see next to the truck. The extra comforters barely took any room in the truck, and came in handy when the temperatures dropped a few more degrees than expected.
Here's some pictures.

Why thank you.
And I was having the time of my life while camping.
The things you see differently in places you don't live can be amazing.

the only bad side is that it's cold sleeping in the back of the truck, the wind chills down the metal and the cold goes straight threw that air mattress, your going to have to find a way to insulate between the bed floor and the mattress

i use to camp in the back of a truck with cap alot...

I didn't find it to be cold at all.
Except for one night when the temperature dropped below 0.
I wasn't planning for it so I woke up a little chilly. The next night I just threw an extra comforter in there and was toasty warm in the morning.

Wow i really like that. You are off the ground and will have alot less dirt being dragged into the tent, and keeps it cleaner for when you have to put it up. i already have a bed rug which would compliment that tent as well. i think i will see about getting one.
