Fuel injector cleaner after a NASTY filter change
I just replaced the fuel filter after having some bad sputtering problems and found thick brown yelow (rust color) all in the old one. I have sampled the fuel currently in the tank with the new filter but the truck is still not running right (although better). Thinking the injectors, one year old, might have gotten some crud build up and that cleaning them might be the next attack. I have always put a can of Seafoam in the tank and sucked some through the intake minifold to clean them. Is this the best if they have had that much crap introduced, or is there a better way (remove them and soak in something, better product)?

Yes there is, I do not believe in the stuff you put in the tank.
Remove the vacuum hose from the FPR and pull the fuel pump relay or fuse.
Maintain cleaner pressure from 35-40 psi at the fuel connection on the fuel manifold. Run the engine on the cleaner until it dies, this will take about 15-20 minutes to run all of the cleaner out of the can.
Then put the vacuum hose back on an the relay/fuse back in and start it up.

But I think it is still cheaper than a new set of injectors.
Payed something like $20.00 for the boxed kit with all the adapters at an going out of business automotive shop auction.
The cleaner I give about $12-15.00 for.
I also have the other type Injector cleaner kit that you pore the cleaner in the container and hook a air hose to it but like the 3M the best.
