Question 6.0 tranny cooler install

Hi, I just recieved my new 6.0 tranny cooler from BTS. I ordered the complete kit he sells for our trucks. My question is to those of you who have installed these kits. Are the lines he give us long enough? he sent 2 lines complete with the 90 degree bends and clamps, hoses etc. I see on the old cooler both lines are at the same side. So on the new one the are on each end. Also what do i need to remove to get in there to access lines and install the cooler etc. and how much more ATF do i need to add?
Hopefully your tips will make my install smoother... thanks guys Jeff

I just did this install using that BTS kit. I put some pictures in one of my galleries.

I cut short the line coming from the driver's-side of the in-radiator transmission-cooler, and bent it around so the short line in the BTS kit ran from the cooler outlet on that side and connected it to that shortened line.

You need to remove the upper plastic/rubber shroud that sits behind the top of the grille, and then the hood-latch and A/C condensor upper brackets. You can also remove the front-bumper for easier access to the lower bolts and to hooking up the hoses (not a bad idea).

There are four bolts attaching the stock cooler; you will reuse those bolts, and the mounting-pattern for the 6.0 cooler is identical to stock. The only difference is that the lower mounting holes on the 6.0 are larger, apparently for a rubber biscuit of some type. The BTS kit has fender-washers to let you use the stock bolts with those larger holes.

The biggest pain is moving aside the rubber flaps that cover the mounting-bolts.

Other than that, and the price, it is an awesome upgrade. The difference in size is amazing, and it dropped my tranny-temps by about 30ºF.

BTW, the 31-row part-number is 5C3Z7A095B; the 5C3Z7A095CA part-# is for a 26-row cooler, but the 5C3Z7A095B unit has a 5C3Z7A095CA number on it
