Cowl Seal Is Cow C**p
I started to reinstall the cowl vent assembly in my '50 F1 today and it drove me crazy. First of all, I purchased a cowl vent gasket from John's F-Fun Hundreds that said it was for a 48-52 and 53-56. The instructions are clearly for a 53-56 and do not mention a 48-52. Anyone have this problem in the past or where did you buy one that worked. It would seem like the gasket gets installed after the assembly is screwed in place but before the cowl vent door is installed. Possibly glue down with weatherstrip adhesive.
As always, any help is appreciated.

I checked Dennis Carpenter and they show a different part number for the 48-52 versus the 53-56. It appears I have the 53-56 since that is what the instructions cover. John's F-Fun Hundreds does not put part numbers on their stuff (at least not what they sent me) and no other parts sites lists a part to handle both the 48-52 and 53-56.
Question. When you glue the seal down before you install the vent assembly, does it interfere with the screws that need to be installed hold the assembly to the body?
