Jeremy at Progressive knows this hitch inside and out from what I can tell. Try his remedy even if ya can't visualize how it'd work -- as I can't, but I'm still on my first cup of coffee this morining.

If you recall, by raising the whole assembly with the trailer power tongue jack you release all the bar pressure. So lowering it ought to increase pressure/weight distribution. That's my best guess this morning.

Going up a hitch size (we're using the 1000/10,000 pound model) might be required. That's the $439 solution though.
