no map lamps, power windows, radio

Good Day,

While wiring in a remote back up camera on my 2003 f250 I shorted out the map lamp power. Now I have no power window power, no map lamp power and no radio power. I have checked all the fuses, they all look fine. I swapped the accessory delay relay with the starter relay and the relay is not the problem. Looking at a 2002 wiring diagram I see there is a "generic electronic module" (GEM) after the acc delay relay. It says the GEM is located in the power distribution box but I can not locate it. Does the 03 have a GEM? Has anyone run across this problem before? I goofed by shorting it out and realy could use some help on this. Thanks in advance.

People say they checked "all" the fuses, but a lot of the time they are checking "all" the fuses that they think are related to the problem. I would check "all", as in every single fuse in the underdash fuse box and the underhood fuse box. The new trucks have so many related systems, you cannot make heads or tails of it by logically looking at the function of the fuses. For instance, you are looking at the battery saver and accessory relays. These are controlled by their own set of fuses that are probably not labeled "radio" or "courtesy lamps".

Thanks for the reply Dave,

I did pull and check every fuse under the dash but never checked any fuses under the hood. I will check it out and post results.

O.K. I admit I am getting old and should not rely on my eyesight like I use to. I rechecked all under dash fuses with a test light and found the culprit. If I used proper procedures to start with it would have saved me lots of frustration. Thanks Dave!

I believe in his last post he was hinting that he had found a fuse that he had missed the first time. Very easy to do.
