Los Alamos member looking for some help

Hey guys -

I am trying to get some engine parts (rotating assembly, block) shipped to me in Los Alamos. The difference in shipping directly to my private residence and shipping to a business (that has a forklift or some other means of unloading the pallet) is quite a bit. I was wondering if any of the guys on this board have some connections to some of the businesses in town where I could get this shipped to. If so, would you be willing to help me out so that I could save some coin?

Thanks,

Devin

Let me look into it. I have some connections at Wilson Transfer. Give me a couple of days.

I need some info first. Are they just going to drop off? How long will the parts be there? Will they need to deliver to your residence?

What is the weight ?

You know, all of the 411 (as my grandson would say)

If it is going to be delivered to a place that has a forklift, then yes, they will just show up and it will have to be unloaded. After that, if it is fairly local, I will come down and pick it up with my pickup the same day or possibly the next day. The high side estimate of weight that the machinist gave me was 650 lbs. He said that it will probably be less, but he always guesses high on his initial shipping estimates.

Sounds fairly simple. Let me give them a call and see what they say. PM me your phone number and I'll give you a call some time this weekend with an answer.

The best thing to do would be, have the driver tell you about what time he would be there and try to meet him. That way you could just transfer from one vehicle to another.

But let me give him them a call.
