Trying to find the VIN on my 53 Pickup frame

Hi
I'm trying to find the VIN on the frame on my 53 F-100. Can someone tell me where it should be?
Thanks,
Craig

mine is on passenger side on the top of the chassis rail, between the front suspension and the front of the cab. Some have also said that they have found it on the trailing edge of the front cross member on the passenger side.

yep, mine too. Top of the frame passenger side. Didn't even notice it till I had blasted it and was getting ready to paint.

Mine is stamped twice on my frame. One is in the same place as everyone else. The second one is about 3 feet back on the same side of the frame under the cab. It would be very difficult to find the second one with the cab in place. I didn't look for mine until after I had the frame sandblasted.

Wow Rick, that would make that second vin almost useless.
who would really jack up their cab to try to read the vin?

I was suprised to see both. Maybe they stamped them twice on Canadian built trucks.

It took me forever to find mine... I didn't find it till I sandblasted the frame, then it was pretty obvious. BUT mine was on the front cross member, not on the frame rail.

Good luck, even after blasting my frame, there was no VIN that I could find!

Same here. I've searched every square inch of that frame rail on my '53 and never found it.

Thanks for all the input everybody- I still haven't found mine. However, the truck is in pieces so it is easy to lift the cab off and go over the whole frame. luckily, the truck came from CO so it's pretty much rust free

on mine it is VERY light.. I had to wire brush that section of the chassis to find it. and then had to use a shop light to get enough contrast to read it..
