Rcommended Des Moines area diesel repair shops?

I'm looking to squeeze some more torque out of my 97 and I'd like to find a diesel shop I can trust to do good work. I've done the intake, cat delete and getting ready to install a d-pipe. Thinking about some other mods but not really sure what order is best.

I've been told about DSM Area Diesel but they didn't act really interested in helping me decide what mods were best accomplished and in what order. They just wanted to know what I wanted done and when I could get them the truck. They were also good at shooting me "ballpark" prices... I'd like to get a little closer than that. Sometimes there are shops that go that extra mile and pride themselves on making something better - the kind of feeling I didn't get from DMAD. (Maybe I caught them on a bad day....?)

Anyone have any recommendations for me?

Thanks.

What are you looking for out of the truck?

Sounds like you have a good start to the supporting mods. There are a couple ways that you can go. If you are looking at chips, no matter what type of product you get, get gauges first.

If your looking for towing rig you should look into an intercooler to get those egts down or do the 10k mod for some cheap extra fuel.

I'd not sold on those performance shops unless you are getting some specially done.

I was a bit indecisive about what mods to perform and in what order. Since my post on the forum my truck has kinda taken a back seat to some other items around the house (like honeydo's) and I'm afraid it may be a while before I can return to it in the same capacity.

MPG's while solo and good torque while towing is what I was looking for (don't we all?) but power was higher on my list.

I have the tymar intake and cat delete. My next step is a dp, gauges and tranny cooler. Sound ok?

Definitely, your off to a good start!

The problem with me is I have several performance parts just sitting in boxes because I haven't found time to install them yet... lol

You are very lucky to be looking in Des Moines for someone to bump up your Diesel. Thee very best guy there is anywhere (very well known in the tractor pulling world) is George's Diesel. People come from all over to have him do his magic. I had him do my 95 years ago and had it sitting running at the gas station. My neighbor (who has drove a truck all his life) came out and said boy that truck sounds good. Wanted to know what I had done to it. Told him I some had work done on it. He asked where and I told him George.......all he said was yeah George really is the best.
