Transmission Question
I don't know what transmission I have. I know it is an automatic. It has an overdrive button but it doens't work. 1990 f250 diesel 4x2
When I am in drive it takes off really slow. When I start off in 2nd, she takes off fast (for a diesel).

The transmission is the E4OD (electronic 4 speed overdrive)
So if you put it in "D", it pulls away very slow, but if you manually put it in "2", it starts off better. Correct?
If the OD cancel switch is also not working, than I think the transmission is getting no electrical power. With no 12v power to the transmission, it will default to 4th gear (overdrive) in "D" (regardless of speed) and second gear with the selector in "2".
Any other electrical problems with the truck?

Yes, everything from the dash lights to the glow plug control. What you say make sense. Where do I look for these wires that need to get power???

The only thing I was told is that they rebuilt the trany about 3000 miles ago. I have replaced the vac pump, starter, voltage reg, batteries, glow plugs.
