Jet chip for 96 F150
#2
I bought a jet module years ago for my 93 lightning. It came with a cooler thermostat. I couldn't tell that it did anything. For the heck of it I removed it and we put it on my friends 302 F-150. It did seem to make his truck run better so I let him keep it.
Recently I bought a Jet performance programmer for my 96 f-150, through summit. I wanted it because it was supposed to be adjustable for tire size and gear changes. The first one would not work at all. The people at jets tech hotline are very rude, and not at all helpful. They managed to tell me I should send the programmer to them. I called summit and they told me not to mess with jet, just send it back to them and they would send me a new one. Well, the new one gave me and error code. Called jet and they told me to my PCM needed to be updated by a Ford tech. I did this ($72), but the programmer still gave the same error code. I sent back to summit for a refund.
To answer your question, NO, I have not used a Jet CHIP, but from my experience I would not recommend it.
By the way, after finding this web site, I found out that I don't need a programmer for a gear change anyway.
Had good luck with a Superchip's chip in my 93 Lightning.
