Lodging ? on highway 16 west of PG

The family and I are moving up to Stewart in early august driving my sig truck and an 04 ex with a 6.0l in it both with 5+tons in tow. The kids and the wife will need to stop for a rest we figure. What I wanted to know is if there is a hotel or motel west of PG that has a pool with a slide so the kids can unwind? (burn off energy) I have been across that part of BC a half dozen times but never thought about lodging before so never paid attention.TIA

I have probably been through that way a few times but can't remember much about lodging. Good luck with the move.

If there is going to be one, there might be in Smithers. Everything else I think is just hik billy towns, and I don't believe there is anything like that, so try logging into their town web site and going from there. Don't know for sure, cuz we usually drive right thru, with making as little stops as possible. On other thought, I'm sure you could find one in PG, and then there are many a mountain stream to toss the kids into, to have them unwind. Good luck on the drive, it is very enjoyable!

Thanks guys.I was thinking maybe houston will have something. Now that the wife knows she is pulling the flat deck she may be inclined not to stop at all.

When I stay in PG, as opposed to just stopping somewhere to sleep for the night, I usually stay at Esther's. It is normally clean and nice. I'm not sure, but I think it is the only one in the area with water slides.

I second Luv mud. We have stayed at esthers inn and very much enjoyed it. Hot tubs and pools right outside the room door that we stayed in.

Like wallz said if there is anything it will be in Smithers.
I am 100km west of PG and it takes me ~6.5-7hours to get up to Stewart (in the summer).
Why are you moving to Stewart? Things are pretty slow up there right now.

Just did a quick search on Smithers
Aspen Motor Inn says it has a pool.

Thanks guys. The plan is to leave Canmore well before sun rise and drive until someone looses their mind, spend the night where ever that happens to be.I am hoping that will be in Stewart.Boing I plan to semi retire up there set up a couple shops to service the mining industry.(Seabridge gold has 34 million oz of gold drilled off not far north of town)My wife and I both come from small towns and are looking forward to slowing down the pace of life, spend more time with the kids and for me giving my body a rest. Twenty odd years as a workaholic mason is taking its toll on my body,I have worked 6 days a week for the last 4 years and I am tired. Thanks again.
