There is a Duraturd running his mouth

One of my friends has a Duramax and he thinks its king of the road. Last night I pull up next to him on the road and we are doing about 40 and we nail it. I stayed with him most af the way but he did start to pull on me just a little, very little. He says he didnt have a chip in it but I heard him talking about a chip he had at one time, so im not sure if it was in there or not. But anyhow we then decided to hook up a rope. Now, I started a post a little ways back about Warn hubs and well....I still havent got them. So wouldnt you know My hubs didnt lock up. So we pulled in 2wd and neither of us went anywhere but it was wet out.

Im kinda pissed that my hubs didnt lock up becuase I tried to get him to hook up so many times before but he wouldnt. So what can I do to give me me the upper advantage next time we hook up when I have the Warns in? I have the 17* pump on the way and I realize that it wont make much differance with out Injectors but maybe it will give me just enought to hang with him on the strights. I dont need much.

Put your receiver hitch in the receiver where the ball is mounted as high as you can. Maybe even get a big drop receiver and put it in with the ball high. That way when you pul you are lifting his truck a bit and putting the weight on your tires. I have also thought if the other person starts first and spins alot and breaks traction you can simply pull out since you have traction and he doensn't. Just a theory. It is really all about physics and not power when you hook up together. Put alot of wieght in your truck. Fill the tanks all the way etc.

I think he will wine if I get a hitch like that and mount it up high. I have always thought about that being an advantage. He is a pretty good driver when it cames to that thing and it is hard to get him to brake them first. I hope Ill have time to let some air out of the tires and fill up and have a lot of friends in the truck next time we pull but, I dont think it will be a planed thing. It will probaly be a spurt of the moment thing like last night. I just might have to start on my traction bar build sooner than I thought.

Like Neal said, It has very little to do with power.
Put 5000 pounds in the bed. You'll drag him anywhere you want.

Rather than pull each other by the hitch, throw 12K pounds behind each truck and start at the bottom of a grade from a dead stop and see who gets to the top first.

Ya I know it has everything to do with traction. He has tha advantage there too with bigger, wider tires. And Daddy pays for all his stuff so he isnt worried about braking anything.

Ya I here tha I would probly ave him there. those Duraturds dont have anything with weight behind them. I would if we could get it done, but probaly wont ever happen.

stock vs stock you'll drag a chebby all around if you know how to drive. so much more weight on our rear wheels. duraturds also have an intercooler stock so you have advantage on turbo lag.

I have a 6.0l cooler. I thought my truck would be lighter than his. He has a 4 door and I thought the newer trucks weigh more anyhow. Im not sure on the year of his truck.

I'll bet you're still heavier than he his... them Chebbies is built out of cheap metal! I think the frame on a Ford is quite a bit beefier too.

From what I can find on the Web, The 2500 gas 4 door GvW is 8600 and Diesel is 9200. Looks like he has me beat. Those chebby guys really like to run thier mouths and I can't wait to shut them up but, I want to make sure I can before I start runnig my own mouth. Looking at Vids on the Net it isn't lookin good for me.

The GVWR is the full load capacity, not what the curb weight is. You will more than likely have to weigh it to know the true number.

Ya weighing them would be the only true way to do it. I just always thought that our trucks weighed less than the newer ones. I guess I need to make sure that I have a full tank at all times and hope he is empty. I ll try to get a bunch of people in the cab too. Ill try to get a video too for you guys.
