Wish I found this site a week earlier!
I swapped a out a blown engine from my 1998 E-350 and replaced it with a 97 F-250. I got it to run but it is choppy and theres alot of white smoke and seems to have very little power. I just found out the hard way that the injectors are different. The 98 has the split fire injectors and the 97 has the single fire. What would I need to change on the electrical to make it compatable? Please for the love of god don't tell me I have no other option other then replacing the injectors! Theres no room in a that van without taking everything out again. Also is there anything else that could make it run like that other then the mismatch form split fire electronics on single fire injectors?
Any good advise is more then appreciated!

just swap injectors from your old motor. or call DP tuner he might be able to help you out with programming. i dont know on a van but taking VC off its not that bad. woud take you few h to swap them out, but make sure get the O-ring kit for all 8ght of them before you put them in....
hope this helps....

The white smoke never goes away, so I'd assume that the glow plug relay wouldn't be a factor. Bringing that up reminds me that the only visual difference I say on the wiring was the 98 had 2 extra wires on the GPR. Would that interfer with changing the PCM and the IDM? Another thing I located the IDM but does anyone know exactly where the PCM is located on a E-350. Or what size is it compaired to the IDM?

Jeremy, DP tuner can easily put splitfire tuning on a chip you can install it in an hour and your proplems will be over, and your swap will be complete and you will have the best aftermarket mod available on the market today.
Some tunes you will want to consider adding
there are multiple levels of high idle for your convenience
several tow programs choose that which is applicable
there is a decel program, that causes your torque converter to lock (on an auto tranny) and your exhause back pressure valve to act as an exhaust brake
There is a highway economy tune
There is a in town economy tune
there is a tune that quiets down the motor when sitting at an idle so that you can talk without having to yell to somebody outside the truck (called the drivethrough tune) (not recommended for speeds over 5 mph)
there is a race tune
and aggressive smoke blowing tune
and a lope idle tune (not recommended for driving but sounds real good when you don't want to talk to somebody outside your truck ??????????cops????????? (my father in law would love that as he is a stater)

Call DP tuner and speak with Jody. He can reflash your current PCM for the split shot tunes, (which must be done), and then you can talk about adding a little extra oomph to your van. Jody is THE MAN!
EDIT: Where are my manners? WELCOME TO FTE!
PS. Pete, good to see you lurking about again. Hope all is going well with the hacienda
