How to tell if the truck has full tow package??
HI
I am looking for an 03 or 04 navigator. Does the tow package come stock on the 03 and is an option on the 04? Thats what I've read online.
What does the full tow package entail on these trucks? Also, how can i easily tell if the truck I go to look at has the full "heavy duty tow package"??
Thanks
mike

My 03' Expy has the HD Tow Package and to tell if it has it, It will for 1 have both connectors (round and flat 4-pin), It will have the tranny cooler up in the front lower grill, and the built in reciever will be rated at (8-9k) if I remember the specs correctly. there may be more ways to tell but thats what I know of off my truck.

I have a 2006 Navi, I have yet to see a navigator 2003 and up with the 7 pin tow plug. all I have seen is the 4 flat. I added my 7 pin. You will see the tranny cooler and the hitch will be high rated. Its fun trying to find a place to mount the 7 pin plug and still use the tow hitch cover. If you need some ideas let me know.,.

There is also a gray plug located under the dash of ALL full size P/U's & SUV's (97 & up) for hooking up the electronic brake controller if you have a trailer with electric brakes..

Well mine didnt. Maybe in 05 they changed it. I am not very familiar with older navi's. All the 2006's I have seen do not have the 7 pin plug. Maybe its an option? I have the tow package with an oil cooler and high rated class 4 hitch. But the 4 flat was the only connector at the rear. It had a wire for the brake controller at the rear harness taped up, and the harness under the dash for the hook up for the brake controller. i also had to trace the wire for the 12v to the trailer for battery charging on a TT and run a wire for it from under the rear driver side pasenger door.

I stand corrected! I went out and checked my 04 Navi. I have a 4 pin and the brake controler. I hadn't looked in sometime and I thought it was a 7 pin connector. Sorry!
