flasher should be in a small bracket, behind the inst. cluster. No need to remove the dash to get the headlight switch out. There is a small button on the bottom side of the switch. Push the headlight **** all the way in & depress the button. With said button depressed, pull the **** out. You may have to rotate it some to get it in the right postiion, but you will feel it "catch" the button. When you feel it catch, release the button & pull the **** out. Once that's out the way, you can get the special tool to remove the headlight switch retining nut, or you can do like the rest of us rednecks & carefully use a small flat scewdriver to loosen it.
It is a good idea to disconnect the battery when pulling the light switch unless you have done it a few times. It is easy to short it against the dash.

Remove a battery cable for safety.
The headlight switch **** and shaft are a one piece unit.
Pull the ****/shaft all the way out....then push the button, and pull the ****/shaft out of the switch.
You do not need to press the button to install the ****/shaft, just push it in.
> > There are TWO flashers behind the dash. One for the emergency flashers (Motorcraft SF552B = a H/D unit), one for the turn signals (Motorcraft SF224). Both look identical.
One is located on the cluster, the other could be in two different locations...behind the flasher switch in the glove box, or to the left of the dash cluster mounted to a U shaped bracket.
Two individual wire ends feed off the loom and connect to this flasher.
You can use the H/D flasher in place of the turn signal flasher, but not the other way around.
67 F 250... drum brakes...right front wheel locks up...pulled hub everything looks fine...no leaks...bearings not burned...repacked everything...wheel spins free...drove 15 miles used brakes several times... wheel locked again...what gives???
Dynamite, are you sure there is no grease or brake fluid on the lining?
Have you cracked the bleeder on the locked wheel to see if it relaxes?
It might be the master cylinder hanging up. When the right front is locked, jack up the left side and see of it partially locked.
Reach under the dash to the brake pedal rod and pull hard. If the wheel relaxes, you have a bad master cylinder of a problem with the rod.
Let us know what happens.
