Thanks!
Thanks for the welcome! Here is a picture of my truck before I purchased it in March:
I bought the truck in Redding CA. It has a 292 w/ a three on the tree. It's in pretty good shape. I plan to use it as a driver while I save for a restomod treatment.
I'm 49 (a 1959 model also!), married with a couple of young teenagers. This is my first Ford truck, though not my first Ford, having been a Torino fanatic since my teens.
So far I have cleaned up the truck, and am in the middle of a carburetor replacement. I hope to have it on the road by the chapter meet at In and Out. Hope to meet some of you there!

Hey, speaking of the Orphan years (Barry----check out the '48-60 Forum as well...lot's of great guys there)...there a similar year truck in the middle of town, looks like a long wheelbase 1/2ton, for $500.00...IIRC has the same paint scheme as Barys...but quite faded, truck looks solid from 20 feet away driving by...been for sale sor quite some time...they may take less.
Oh...and Barry...welcome a-board!

That's a beaut....you know, I just bought my latest 66 F250 in Redding..what is it with that town...is the last bastion for good looking classic Ford trucks...? The one I purchased wasn't the only 66 F250 up there either...at least one other...and a 66 F350 Flatbed too...both pretty good looking trucks...

She was mauling me in the cab of my 68 F250..and I promised I'd come back to Hang Town...when i did, I found out she was the CHP Area Commander's daughter...we went out to dance and I went home..ne'er to return...I wasn't so free with my stories then.

Redding Iron
I lived in Redding for about 5 years and you are right, there are a lot of nice older vehicles there. It is one of the many things I enjoyed about living there. A large percentage of the population are retired. Many are folks that moved in from other areas and have enough money to own and play with their toys. But there are also a lot of older, original, unmolested vehicles that have simply never gone out of use. It reflects the mentality of a lot of the folks living in that area. My wife and I plan on moving back there when we no longer have to worry about trying to make a decent living.

Keeping an old vehicle on hand is my idea of the ulitimate form of recycling...the longer we keep our American steel on the road, the better my opinion...
Got it on how it is up in Redding..from what I understand Roseburg Oregon is 'bout the same way..they have pretty big Grafitti weekend up there ...believe it starts on or about the 4th...
Happy trails..I'll be looking for your truck in Sac-o-pa-day-das...that is if the Good Lord's a-willin' and the creeks don't rise....Oh, and if my truck keeps on keepin on..

Don't be bitter about it...just go out and vote... and let the chips fall where they may...and then vote again next go 'round...
