2003 7.3 and the 6.0 intercooler, what about the automatic trannys?

Well there are lots of posts about swapping the intercooler. That seems pretty straight forward but........

There is always the tag line, might have to relocate the transmission cooler lines for the automatic.

Anyone done this?

I have also seen the part about swapping for the 6.0 tranny cooler. Is there a procedure for that?

Thanks guys!

I need a PAA sticker

You might as well just do the 6.0 trans cooler while your at it. thats what I ended up having to do.

Read through this thread where I addressed this exact problem with the lines.

Thanks Guys!

What is the PN for the tranny cooler I need? I found this one on craigs list.

But I don't know if it is the right one or not.

When you mention hose, I guess you mean rubber hose? Not hardline?

That looks like it.

Yes, you'll need some Parker hose and adapters.

Picked up the tranny cooler in the picture $40.

Where do you cut the existing lines? Do you cut hardline or hose?

On the tranny cooler I got, looks like the ends are for hose. So clamp on some hose and then a set of 90s to get over to the passenger side?

Then a transition from 3/8 to 1/2?

i just cut the hose about 6" away from the steel lines and put the adapters there, i did not use any 90 deg elbows, i made long sweeping turns from the cooler and routed them the same way the stock lines ran. I just measured the old rubber hose it is 3/8 and the new hose i used is 1/2. let me know how it goes

Thanks for all the help guys!

Ok, two more stupid questions.

1. Does it matter which line goes to which side?

2. Do you have to prime the system before you start up the first time?

You *******. You get the cooler for that price?? You should be shot!!

Your trans is kinda stupid so if you keep quite, it won't know. Forget about it. Whichever side is convenient.

No priming is necessary.

I can't seem to find one other than ordering one from the dealer PN 5C327A095B at $502.57
dam it.
Got other part #'s for the fittings and hose, but don't help if you dont have the cooler up front.
