CD Error

CD Error
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-Jun-02 AT 01:23 AM (EST)]Have a 2001 F-350 with factory 6 CD changer. Have all slots full...whenever I try to play/eject a CD I get "CD ERROR". Have tried disconnecting battery to reset with no luck. Any other ideas?

Hey..I just had that happen this weekend. I was at a BBQ..someone had a boom box that just wouldn't play..so I offered my SD for the tunes. Loaded up the CD...played the 1st 6 for almost 2 hours..then changed out all 6 and played them for at least 2 hours..using the shuffle disc option..so the changer was WORKIN'...so after about 5
hours I tried to change the 6 again..and had the same problem as you..hit eject..told it what disc..the little door opened..no disc came out..CD ERROR..tried with another disc..no luck..the door wouldn't close so now the CD player wouldn't work at all..had to resort to the radio...I wasn't a happy camper
..brand new truck..not even a month old...just to mention..it was 90 degrees and humid. Went home at midnite..the next morning I got in the truck and there was a CD hanging out of the changer..I didn't even put the key in...I took that CD out and another CD followed it..So...I was able to eject all 6 and reload another 6 and it's been playing fine. My assumption was that it simply overheated...not that it should..but there was no airflow..as the truck was just sitting..v.s. flying down the road...Could that be the problem?

CD Error
The dealer is a possibility...a last resort...warranty or not it's still many hours of messing with them...and probably a new ding or two...almost cheaper to buy a new unit off of E-bay for $125 for the time spent.
