Bed wanted

My dad has a '78 F250 with perfect bedsides, but the inside is rough.
He is looking for a bed, I think '77 to '96 will work, to put his bedsides on.

Anyone got anything affordable?

And I have a rebuilt 4X4 auto trans with a good transfer case attached to it that came out of a 1983 F250 4X4 with a 302, several shop sized tools ,air compreessors ,etc... Thanks for the reply . I'm in homer .Probably a bit far, even though I'd like to put the tow bed off of my 75 one ton dually on something that old . My cab is rusting off of the frame . By the way , you dont work for that mine out there do you? I'm a mechanic looking for a new home, resume and every thing .I notice that they advertize for help alot . seems when you break up with a woman in these small towns its a lot less hassle if you find a way to leave. At any rate thanks for the reply , and good luck, bob

Don,t know about the pay but the living and working conditions are right out of the dark ages. If you are a fieild mechanic I could probly set ya up. I hear you on the fishing . I used to crab untill I got my neck broke . I was a mechanic before ,and just went back to it. I've actually been thinking about selling the tow truck . Hard to keep it when I'm moving arround so much. Its got a PTO driven hydraulic Braden winch, that works good but I have a spare Braden just in case, to many new or rebuilt parts to name , and a clear title as a 73 because thats what I got the doors and front clip off of, brand new registration and tags. A previous owner did me the favor of removing the vin. numbers from the cab. Thanks for the info on the mine .There's always a reason why places can't keep crew . I've done a lot of in the field work, and you are right about the heated shops being full. I've been able to stay out off the unemployment line with short term ,'to cold for the regular crew to do', things . Havent thought of a price for the old tow, If you were to come and get it , it would probably be pretty reasonable . again , thanks for the reply, bob

Some of the barge companies are...samson, northland , anderson, cook inlet marine. and the marine highway. Before this gets to far , I'm thinking of a price somewhere arround $2,000.00 possibly less. Is that something you can live with? It may seem steep but the only place this is really bad is the cab corners, and the floor , which I patched with a piece of sheet metal. I sanded the bed down about 5 years ago and repainted it and the front clip and doors are good . It has spare's for everything which I would load on and send with it , bob
