I have a 98 F150 the other day the instrument cluster just stopped working all lights work on the cluster but no gauges. I have checked all fuses and all seem to check good. Any ideas what would be the issue?

Go back and check fuse F29 in the in-cabin fuse box. It runs the whole cluster and commonly gets blown when there are problems with the TCS wiring at the shifter lever (if an automatic).

Thanks so much.. When i was checking my fuses the first time i didnt have my book with me but i knew it was either a 5A or 10A fuse but couldnt remember. So i just checked all the 5A and 10A fuses which all were good. I bought this truck used 3 or 4 yrs ago and they must of had the same problem but the idiots put in a 30A fuses i guess their thinking was it would take 6 times the ammount to blow a 30A if it only requires a 5A. I am a electrician by trade and i see this all the time with the diy homeowners. I guess if they would have melted the harness or let all the magic smoke out from under the dash they would have crapped their shorts..
