Heater Hoses on 292

Hey,, Dumb question here. Where does the return heater hose go on the 292? I have the outlet tufbe on the water pump, whichis a no brainer. I dont see any other place for a hose connection other than maybe on the top of the Intake at the thermostat housing.

thanks in advance.

And the year is...?

Your profile sez 2007 F150...that's a rather unusual year and model to have a 292 Y block engine, doncha think?

Y block

There's a straight nipple (8M-18599) that attaches to the waterpump for the heater hose.

There's a stand pipe that screws into the intake manifold (some have a shutoff valve...these resemble a garden hose faucet [without the threads where the hose attaches] for the return hose...on some.

I'll wait till you tell me what you're working on, before going any further with the stand pipe application.

Thanks fro the quick reply. Forget to mention, it is in 1 58 F100. Stock 292. The PO stuck a pipe plug in the hole at the top of the intake just behind the thermostat. Thought that may be the return.

Sorry for the sarcastic humor, it comes naturally...because when ppl forget to list what they're working on, it makes it difficult to help. It happens all the time here.

Stand pipe: I found two different types: B7A-18599-B = (replaced by C6AZ-18599-B) & C4TZ-18599-B / The difference as I recall, (the parts catalog doesn't say-that's typical of Ford) is one is taller than the other.

Edit: Found a desciption in the car parts catalog....One is curved, one isn't.

I'll see if any obsolete parts seller has one...brb

Bill,, When I come across a man with your knowledge and access to part numbers,, I don't mind sarcastic remarks. You are always willing to help any and all of us. I also have access to a small shop here in the Denver area that may have the part as well.
Once again Thanks for the info.
