So what is Chrysler going to do repay us for the $5.5b in taxpayer money they just got. You may think they are going to build better cars but you'd be wrong.

Actually they are going to sponsor the new Terminator movie....

Chrysler thanks America by sponsoring the forth Terminator movie.

You do realize these companies don't get that money for free, aside from a gvt. say in things they also have to pay back all the money, it is just a gvt. guaranteed loan.

Automotive companies sponsor lots of things non-automotive. Think about everytime you've seen a car commercial during your favourite television show, or seen an ad in a magazine. Putting money into a movie is along the same lines. It's all about "product placement", and not only car companies are doing it. Does anyone really think it's a coincidence that in the movies they drink a certain brand of beer or eat at a specific restaurant? No... those brewers and food sellers paid their money for their products to be featured. In the end, like pretty much everything else in the world, it simply comes down to the money behind it.

I think its a little soon. I would think that they would spend some of this money on designing/engineering their vehicles. Instead it going towards a movie/commercial to get there **** vehicles into it. But apparently I'm the only one it bothers.

Speaking of advertising, I wonder which manufacturer will ante up the money for a Super Bowl spot?

Its not the advertising that I dislike I guess. I think what I dislike is the fact that they know they have crap vehicles and yet they think the way to fix their problem is to advertise more.

At like $3 million for 30-seconds, I know we won't see FTE advertising there!

Seeing you are basing this off of opinion and not FACT. Unless you can post some proof that "Chrysler" made a statement in regards to their crappy vehicles. I can't see a multi-billion dollar company stating to the public ( aka possible consumers ) that they produce a crappy product.

And I'm willing to bet my left nut that there is more than 1 person out there that believes Ford, GM, Toyota, and Nissan make crappy products.

I suppose.

But how many Chrysler vehicles have you had? My mom and aunt both have, my mom had a Chrysler 300M and had electrical problems with it and eventually traded it in for Cadillac STS, My aunt had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and had the transmission replaced. Luckily it was replaced under warranty. You must have had a overly positive experience with Chrysler.
