2000 Ford Explorer XLS

I can now hear at rattling in the drivers side front tire area. Can anyone give me idea's on what it could be?

May be a loose shock absorber. Does it disappear when you apply the brakes? Could be a rattling brake caliper. Bad ball joint.

I don't hear it when I apply the brakes. Maybe it is a shock asborber. How can I tell if its a bad ball joint?

if you don't hear it when you are on the breaks then it is going to be the caliper. make sure the bolts are tight. and the caliper bracket bolts.
