IPR woes

i was just checking all ground wires and connections when i found that the retainer nut on the back of the ipr is off and laying in the valley. i just had it put on in october. is the ipr bad now or just need put back together? i am guessing that the fuel filter housing has to come out as well. very frustrated and could use some help.

If the magnet was moving around yes it could affect the way the engine runs.

injector pressure regulator. it sits in the valley mounted to th back of the hpop to control the press. to the injectors.
UPDATE got the nut back on no change in idle or perfomance. hope i dont have to put in a new ipr and that low voltage code still points concern toward the pcm.
