Will a PIE adapter work with my 6 disk changer?
Since the PIE adapters available for my 06 psd are only compatiable with certain stereo models I wanted to know if they make one that will work with my factory 6 disk changer? Does anyone know the model of the 6 disk changer off hand? I'm not about to pull it out just to find out the model number.... hope someone can help.
Thanks,
Ben

I don't have one yet, but I have been to their website and the have a lot of options to chose from including the 6-disk changer. They have a model the freezes the ipod while and you only control it through the stereo and there is a model that allows you to do both. Do a search for PIE adapters and you should get some info, I remember there was a topic about it a couple of months ago.
PIE Precision Interface Electronics Online Store - FORD CAN-BUS VEHICLES to iPod (FULL TEXT & FULL CONTROL)
This could be what you are looking for. It says for 2006 vehicles.

Go to a website that sells the PIE adapters. They are listed by specific vehicle models, years, and type of OEM radio. As stated above, if your unit has an AUX button, it will work. I use a PIE in my '06 to direct connnect and control my Sirius Sat radio with my steering wheel controls and it works great. (I also have the 6-disc CD changer)

I have the Sportster 3. I should clarify; when I said I control my Sirius, I meant I am able to toggle through the mode control on the steering wheel and switch to the Sirius from the other modes (ie: am,fm, cd). If I want to change stations or turn the Sirius on/off, I have to do it manually with my remote. Sorry for the confusion.
NOTE: if you get a PIE adapter, get one with the built in gain control. This allows you to adjust the output of the device you hook up to it so that the volume is the same as the other mediums (ie: radio, cd player)
