Run your Diesel on Water?
#16
HHO can improve combustion efficiency, much like propane injection in a diesel can, The reason why HHO generation can net you an increase in mileage is that electrolysis is more dependent on current flow rather then voltage, so as long as you move a lot of current, but at a low voltage, you can generate quite a bit of hydrogen.
You can't run your truck from this generator, the most it does is simply help improve combustion characteristics.

HHO is no different then running propane on your diesel. It won't run your car/truck all on its own from the generator (which some try to claim) , but it helps make the combustion more efficient, not a whole lot more efficient, but enough to make a difference.
You just have to see the different between the two main HHO claims, the ones saying you can run your car on it, and never buy a drop of gas again, is just BS. The ones that say you can pick up a few MPG, are the real ones.

Fortunately I have a job with access to a machine shop. I have been working on some underwater pressure vessels that can easily be "modified" into a hydrogen generator. The material is 6" diameter schedule 80 PVC. I will start working on it in my spare time. I may have some of our design engineers designe me a circuit that I can tap into either the TPS or MAF or even the tachometer to increase/decrease the HHO generation using a voltage regulator to somehow limit the current when idling, etc. I'm sure that this is what Hydrogen 4000 is doing. I just don't have $1200 laying around.
I will build a simple one with just an on/off switch. I have tracked my mpg since my truck was new 55k miles ago. If there is 10% or more improvement I should be able to see it. If it's snake oil so be it. If it works I will take whatever it gets and start tweaking the design and see if I can get more.
I envision maybe 18-24" long with two endcaps with o-ring fit. I can mill/drill the electrode feedthroughs and plumbing. Any suggestions for electrodes such as welding rod (SST) plates, etc. Size? All ideas welcome. If you think it's BS please don't respond. That doesn't help anyone.
Thanks!
