Allright guys, here's the deal. I've already spent hours on here searching for the answer to this question, and I've found out many answers to other questions that I've had, but I just can't seem to get this one answered. I understand it may have been asked before, but I just can't find it.
What all exactly is involved with putting a post '86 fuel injected head on a carbureted engine? It would seem to me that it would be a bolt in application, but I have read some things that would lead me to believe otherwise. What would I be looking at as far as valve train alignment and the like. I know that it would flow better than the original heads, but would I be able to make the swap with simple tools and no machining?
Also, what kind of compression ratio would I be looking at with a swap like that?
No particular involvement in the swap over putting on a non EFI head. Swapping a 240 head to a 300 is said to raise the CR about .5...The EFI head probably about that if any.
