Hey thanks for letting me join. Just moved to Maryland last August, I live in Columbia. Moved from Michigan thus the name and I now work/study at UMD in College Park. I have a 01 F250 7.3 4x2 Supercab with an 8’ bed. Just recently picked it up great shape, every record from the day it was delivered to the first owner till I bought it. It has 71k miles. Mostly plan on using it to tow our fifth wheel as we are upgrading from the travel trailer world this year.

Waiting for spring? I was camping this weekend just got home. We camp year round for the most part as long as it’s above zero and there is an open campground somewhere we want to go. We are looking forward to exploring Maryland with our 11 and 8 year olds. Should be an exciting summer. We are heading to Gettysburg in May but between now and then we hope to find some places in and around us for some weekend excursions. First name is Ben BTW.

At the young age of 78 I don't camp in the winter anymore... Matter of fact, I don't like winter at all.

I can understand that. The grand parents don’t like coming to visit in Winter. As for winter, I honestly have yet to see it in Maryland. When I think winter, I think snow and lots of it. Here a picture of Michigan about 3 weeks ago.

I know snow, Ben...was born and raised in upstate NY. Loved it as a kid. Joined Navy at 17 and stayed for 20. Most all of it in the south and/Pacific NW. Got spoiled. It'll take you a bit to get used to MD summers! Lots of hazy, hot and humid. Hope you have central air. Couldn't see the top of the RV to see if you had an A/C up there. I've had 5th wheels since 1994.

I can understand the spoiled aspect. Kids have had 5 snow days where their friends in Michigan have had 1. Summer here wasn’t bad two summers ago, it was hot but that was ok. I spent the better part of last summer in DC. Central air on the house yes, central air in the camper also a yes. The new camper we are planning on has two units so I should be able to make it an ice chest when I need to. Though after using the grandparents Tiffan last summer anything is going to be a step down. Side note thanks for your service.
