2009 5.4L horsepower leaked

What would the point be of having a V10 in the F-150? It weighs more then the 5.4, and still only puts out 362HP and 457 ft-lbs, and sucks down fuel, while you have 5.7L V8s putting out 380HP and 404 ft-lbs of torque that can actually manage somewhat respectable mileage

"Again what i want the power for is none of your concern. I just want it and I want Ford to have the bragging rights with class leading numbers.
390 is less than Dodge, GM toyoda. I could not care less that you are happy with that."
I agree with almost everything you said, except for the GM part, the biggest engine in the Silverado 1500 is the 6.0L and it offers
Thundering 367 horsepower @ 5500 rpm
375 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4300 rpm
(Directly off the Chevy Website.)

Thanks.
I'd heard or read somewhere GM was finally going to offer the Denaly 6.2 acrost the bored.
403Hp and 420(?) torq.

hooking up trucks proves nothing except who has the most traction at the moment.
i have seen videos where a little bronco 2 yanked a full size dodge around.
besides his tundra is a 4wd and my 250 ia a 2wd.
I want a new Ford but I want it to at least run like a new toyoda.
If someone else doesn;t care and wants more mpg I respect that but don't shove there values down my throat.
I just want Ford to give us the choice.

or at the very least, make a damn v10 based on the 4.6 stroke. the one off prototype in the boss 351 mustang mule was great.... I'm sure they could come up with a truck version easily.
Amen. and while we're on that subject, where's my 4.30 gears option?? that costs NOTHING extra for ford. they're differnt gears, they don't cost anything different to make a different ratio...

My understanding is that EVERY engine combonation has to be EPA certified.
So the 4.30's would have to be tested $$$$ and then the CAFE would be effected by a few less MPG.
I cou;d see 4.30's or even lower with a double OD I think thts what the tundra does.

a few less mpg?? hardly. most people notice better mpg around town and slightly less on the hwy when they up the gears on these trucks.
bad mpg usually comes from how hard the engine has to work, not as much from RPM. That was in the carb days that was a problem .
My mustang with 4.30s has gotten 28mpg phoenix to san diego....
