Three deuces - yes. They're on ebay all the time. Bellhousing - I wonder.

It took somebody some work to get that Windsor into that truck, so expect that you'll have to undo that work. You might consider shopping around for a replacement for the 289. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the 272 (is it really a 292?), but you'll be fixing the clutch linkage, shifter linkage, probably the throttle linkage, the radiator hoses, motor mounts, exhaust, and other stuff. And I'm not sure that you can find a bellhousing that will work with the transmission that came on the 289.

Unless you have the older (pre 1966) 289, A 302 should fit where the 289 was, and a 351W will fit pretty good except for the exhaust pipes needing to be longer. Where I live (Idaho) 302's are easy to come by.

The bellhousing on the early Windsors had 5 bolts. The later Windsors have 6 bolts.

The 289 weighs 450 lbs. vs. the 272 (and 292/312) weighs 625 lbs.

I realize you didn't ask for advice about whether or not to put a 272 in there, but I thought you'd want to consider the work involved.

Best of luck,

0.060" over and stock sized pistons??
It'd knock like a cop with a search warrant,
even if you could keep the rings in the
grooves...

Having owned a '57 F100 with a 289 in it,
you should reconsider putting a 302 or
another 289 in there, as the bell housing
mounts have probably been cut out to get
the 289 and tranny into it...
