292 - Distributor recommendations

Hi all,

As I know that the distributor got hung up in the sling when we yanked the motor, and the motor appears to have had at least 100k on it prior to this rebuild, and the original distributor just looks like crap.

So I want to update the distributor to something along the lines of a Pertronix. I'm pretty sure that I am going to need the entire distributor.

Your thoughts? Infinite knowledge?

I'll open up this can.

Take a 57-64 distributor, add 72-89? Mopar electronics from a 318/360.

It was written up in Hot Rod Mechanix May 1984 for a Y block.

My copy is poor, hopefully someone will have an original they can scan.

If I'm not mistaken, you should
be able to swap the Duraspark II
guts into an old distributor...

The Pertronix fits in the 57-64 dist and is easier to install than a set of points.
