Running on less than 8 cylinders
The what to pack for spares on a trip thread got me thinking, what if you lose an injector, UVCH, or harness leg when you're on the road. Are you hurting anything by continuing on your way running on 6 or 7? Is topside lube from the fuel critical to preserve rings and/or cylinder walls? Pretty easy to unplug a harness to disable a cylinder, but is it safe? Seems like there's probably a lot of poor running rigs out there with harness problems.

Good luck running in the first place!
From my experience with old gasser trucks, if you lose a cylinder, it's hard to even go. think about how much resistance it would create, especially with the size of the cylinder and the compression ratio! i suppose you could, but if it did still go, i wouldnt run it like that.

You need to do a little more reading and a little less posting then if you think these rigs need all 8 injectors functioning correctly to run. UVC harness failures are very common on these rigs, lots of guys are running on less than 8 till they get it diagnosed and repaired. I ran mine on 6 for a while till I figured out my harness problem, ran fine, just low on power that way.
