temp. gauge not rising????

temp. gauge not rising????

89 ranger. the temp gauge would always run on the "C" and not in the middle. i replaced the thermostat and it still is only rising to the "C". any ideas? thanks

To see if the gauge is working, turn the key to run, remove the wire from the temp sender & ground it to the engine. Does the gauge read full hot?

Where is the temp sender located on a 92 2.3ltr engine?

Not sure where it is on a 2.3, but it will be screwed into the head somewhere & has a single wire with a rubber boot that just pulls off.

Wire is red with white stripe.

Anybody know where its located exactly on the 2.3 4banger? Its a 92 ranger xlt.

If grounding it out doesnt work, imply put a manual one in. It costs about 15 bucks at advanced auto and is a five minute install.
