I have heard that grease is not a good idea because if any grease falls into the manifold the shavings will stick in there. At least till you fire it up and thru the turbo it goes.

I have also heard that this is not a good idea even though the shavings get blown out the hole some could possibly be blown thru the turbo.

I don't know about you guys but I want to keep the turbo out of the equation...Can you tell? LOL

Dan, I don't really understand your question as I did not even suggest that EGT's would increase 2,000* But....The different in pre vs post readings can be extremely different.

I think that it was RubberDuck that had both Pre & Post probes hooked to his rig and there was a very large difference, I don't recall the exact readings but they were above 500* and I think that they approached 900*.

Perhaps he will jump in.

But what i was trying to say was why would a post-turbo gauge go up to 2000*F?
I think it's pre turbo, and Slick seems to agree...
