Horn is gone

Godd morning and thank you for letting me join this forum.

I have a 2002 4.6 Ford F150 crew cab. I checked my horn fuse, it was ok, replaced the horn relay, and it still did not work. Does anyone have any suggestions. I remember my horn, at the very last day it was working, that I barely touched it and the horn stayed stuck for a while. I had to manipulate it to stop and then all of a sudden, there was no horn after that.

Thank you

Welcome!

Are you sure the horn itself is good?

No Dan, I sure don't. Heck do they go bad after 5 years? I guess I'll just go buy a new one if there is an aftermarket one. I did replace my plugs but I do not thingthat had anything to do with disconnecting any wires that I have seen. I believed I have checked everything minus the horn itself.

Clock Spring. Is this a dealer Item and is it easy to replace? Thanks for your help on this becasue it is really bothering me. I took the horn out and I tried getting wires to it. I am not good with that kind of stuff. I used housing wire to test it because I did not have 12 gauge and the horn did not go off.

Get a new horn if connecting directly to the battery didn't make it work.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I did get new horns and they work beautifully and loud. Got them from NAPA and I had to modify the connections but that was ok. My trouble is that my horn sticks now. I plugged it in and it just stayed blowing away. Pissed my neighbors off. I unplugged them after I pressed the horn pad a few times. It would stop then start blowing on it's own again. I removed the airbag and found the electrical pad of the horn. It seemd to still work when I touched it but it was rather sensitive. I put it back together and the horn would work for a while but still get stuck blowing endlessly. I had to disconnect the horn. Is that Electronic pad bad?

2002 f150 4.6

all I can deduce at this point is the switch at the master cylinder along with the harness, Part #9f924.

I tried the diagnosis test and the cruise indicator only came on with the ON button. The Resme, Casot amnd Set/Accel switcehs did not make it blink and what I have read tells me nothing as far as the diagnosis.

I replaced the clockspring and now I will replace the switch and harness at the master cylinder and go from there. That switch was deluged with brake fluid and so was the connection. I hope that ios it. I would appreciate any suggestions to this point.

You can get that replaced for free.......RECALL !! Man, you're lucky your truck hasn't burned to the ground and taken anything in it's path with it!! Unplug the switch NOW, that's right this minute!! Leaking switch on the master cylinder is what BURNS FORDS TO THE GROUND!! Go do it NOW, in case I didn't make that clear......
