I'm right in the middle of changing my tranny fluid. I pulled the valve body to do the c00nhunter mod. There sounds like loose springs in the valve body, is this normal? It also seemed like there was quite a bit of very fine grey metal dust when wiping down the parts. The magnet in the bottom of the pan was quite full of this stuff. Is my tranny dying? I haven't had any problems with it. Where might this stuff be coming from? Is it time for a rebuild?

 

Very fine metal dust is okay and it is GOOD to get it out of there. Badly burned fluid and actual metal pieces(not metal powder) and/or clutch band material are problems that you don't want to see.
