Beware of your account!!!!

This is not truck related, just wanted to let everybody on FTE know to watch Your Bank Account and debit cards. Some LAZY,NOACCOUNT,SOB somehow got My number and wiped out My checking account. Had just received My rebate check in about a week ago. Took me for 2G's. Happened last Tuesday night. There went My Mod money. Everybody keep an eye on your account. This is a shock to wake up and see that you have no money.

*******s. Your bank should reimburse you. If they do not, stand at the door to the bank and tell customers that the bank stole your 2 G's.

Sorry to hear about that Floyd. Have you contacted the credit reporting agencies yet and had them freeze your information to make sure you don't suddenly end up with a bunch of new credit cards?

those people that do that should be hung out to dry. As we all should always be careful with our personal info, especially on the computer, I always shred my info and burn it in my incinerator.

That sucks. What's really depressing is that law enforcement doesn't do squat about it. I worked for a company investigating fraudulent DELL charge accounts for a while. One PD told us to "call back when it gets to a million".

I had that done to me too, a few times here and there totaling about $600 a few months ago. The bank slowly, but surely got my money back to me. Because it's an actual debit from an account with actual money in it, it is ALOT harder to get the $$ back in a timely fashion as opposed to it being a credit card which you don't have to pay until the billing period, they can just wipe it off.

Call Experian at 888-397-3742, Transunion at 800-680-7289, and Equifax at 888-766-0008 and have an alert entered on your credit files. They'll have to call you at a number you specify before any credit account will be authorized. (Supposedly)

My wife and I are always very carefull with our information. We don't even use it in restaurants, always pay cash. The bank has to do an investagate first. My take up to a month to here from it. So far don't know how they got my number. It is a mystery to Me and very depressing.

Sure they can, they can freeze your account. You can then go to the branch, withdraw all money, open new account, (new cards and numbers etc), and go have a beer.

Isn't that a pretty serious federal offense? They stole your stimulus check after all. Did you get yours direct deposited from IRS? It'd be a bummer if someone hacked their crap and stole from everyone that gets a stimulus check!

Did that first thing. but it still don't stop it from happening again with the new account. Hackers can still find You. They don't know names just run numbers.

That sucks, you'd think they would be more willing to help with a situation that they'd be potentially liable for. Who do you bank with? They won't see a penny of my money if they don't help their members.
