302 OIL CAPACITY: 6 quarts vs. 5 quarts ?????????

MY 80 302 ford Ranger 150 owner's manual noted 6 quarts of oil when changing filter. But quite a few others Ford 302 owners on the web, etc. commonly quote or reference 5 quarts of oil in 302 motors.....

Are there any differences in the STOCK FORD- non racing, non- high performance oil pan capacities for Ford 302 motors from the 70's and 80's ?????? Did truck and Broncos, etc. pans have higher capacities vs. car oil pans??

302 OIL CAPACITY: 6 quarts vs. 5 quarts ?????????

I always put in six, 5 quarts for the engine, and 1 quart for the filter change. That's what my owner's manual tells me and that's what I put back in.

"You can always tell a Chevy owner, You just can't tell them very much."
