dp 120 and 140 tunes

Hey guys. im gonna place my order for dp F5 chip this week and am having a hard time deciding on what tunes to get. So far i know i want the 60tow and 80 econo. I was also thinking about the 120 and the 140 extreme. Is there a noticeable difference in these two tunes? My truck is mostly stock except for a 6 inch lift, AFE stage 2 intake, and 4" straigt pipe exhaust. I dont want to pay for the two tunes if there isnt going to be a noticeable difference. Any other tunes you guys reccommend let me know. Thanks for the help.

Not a whole lot, but for the price get them both. The 140 will make a bit more smoke but not a lot more useable power.

There is a difference between the 140 extreme and the 140 aggressive. One is more for smoke and one is more for performance, but I forget which is which. As far as performance, with the stock HPOP, there won't be any positive difference between the 140 and 120 race settings. The HPOP just won't keep up.

I'm not sure, but I think the 140 aggressive is the smoke file. I just told him I wanted the 140 smoke and he did the rest.

I was wondering the same thing......I have read about a few guys that have "de-fueling" issues with the 140 extreme or the 140 smoke because of the HPOP not keeping up. On another note........I've been talking with Dennis at ITP Diesel.....he's close to me, and can burn all the DP stuff himself. Probably going this route since I can get the JWVB at the same place in person! Still undecided on which tunes though lol

I think the 140 smoke or aggressive is just for show, plenty of smoke. You will need more oil for the power to show up. The 120 is all a stock HPOP is going to handle and even that would be much better with big oil. But if you just want to smoke some a--hole ricers, the you have got to have both 120 and 140.

Sooo........if the 140 smoke makes the truck de-fuel because of the HPOP, would that make the 120 more powerful? I realize that is a "theoretical" question lol I'm sure I'll get both anyways.....just wondering

To be honest, I haven't gotten on either one enough to get close to defueling. I do know the the 140 smoke seems to run hotter, which would make sense with more fuel, both are within limits doing what I do. I wish I could have filled all sixteen positions on my chip and may someday.

It doesn't de-fuel, it just can't keep up with the demand. It is really close to the limit of the stock HPOP in the 80"E" tune from what I hear. Down low I can feel a difference in the 120 and 140 tunes compared to the80 "e" but it runs out at the top in 120 and 140. Thats what I have been told.
