Valve tool

Anybody know where I can get a tool for removing valves & springs from a flathead V8 Ford? And about how much does one cost?

Just started on my '52 F1 frame up.

Since your working on an after 1948 engine I think a regular valve spring compressor will work. The bar was used to pull tension off the spring to pull the guide lock. Since removal of the keepers will release the pressure against that lock on the later design their removal is easier. If the guides are not worn you may as well leave them alone. kotzy

They seem to come up on E-Bay quite regularly. Just type in Ford Flathead and all kinds of goody's come up. The ones I have seen are usually reasonably priced.

Thanks for all the replies. I used the info from 51ford fan and ordered a book and the valve tool.
