Here's a stock F-150 4x w/ 31x10.5's........
And here she be with a 4" susp. and 35x12.5's...... ( and chrome grill )
Lift laws here say 27" front, 29" rear frame height for 1/2 tons, so the 4" and 35's works out. I still have a body lift to put in once I get my new core support undercoated...I also had to raise the front bumper all the way in the adjustment slots, and space it out about an inch because the tires rubbed in full lock turns, and I didn't want to cut or bend the ends in.

A 250 or 350 is your best choice for the most hieght. 31s are about the max you can go on a half ton and I've put 33x12.50s on my 250 and only had an issue with rubbing on hard turns. A 4in on a 3/4 ton you may be able to fit 37s but it will be a tight fit.
Plus if you can find a 350, its normally cheaper to lift on a truck with a solid front axle. The solid axles are also much stronger than any TTB.
