1955 f100 steering & o/d trans
Hi All
my father has a restored 55 f100 with yblock & 3 on the tree
it has always steered badly - loose & wanders
we have a few old straight axle trucks & this one has always been the worst steering by far
front end was done, steering box was rebuilt
then put on a drop axle & went through everything again
within a few thousand miles the rebuilt steering box was beyond adjusting
it has 235 radials front & back
not real keen on rebuilding the stock steering box & going through this again
what options are there for upgrading the steering (preferrably power)
no limit has a power rack kit but it is not recomended to be used with a drop axle - if there are no practical power options somebody once told me that f250 & f350 steering boxes bolt in but have heavier duty internals - is this true??
does anybody make kits to use T5 or other more recent 5 or 6 speed overdrive standard trannies with yblocks????
thanks
Spike
