Add-a-leafs vs. High-Boy springs
I have a '78 F250 4x4 that I would like to raise the front about two inches to level it out. I know I can install Add-a-leafs that will do the trick, but I have found a local guy who is parting out a '76 High-Boy and he will sell me the front leafs for $100 that will also give me the lift I want.
Are there any advantages/disadvantages to going with either set-up?
Thanks,
Randy

I got some JC Whitney "add a leafs" for around 61.99+shipping and put them on in a couple of hours. Spray the heck out of the u-bolt nuts, and reused the spring clamp. They come with a new center pin, was a pretty easy job.
I bought a used set of 6 leaf highboy springs for $125, looked them over real good before hand,no cracks. Got them home cleaned them up, and of course found 2 leafs had cracks. Right behind where the u-bolt was, they were still mounted when I inspected them.
If your leaf springs are not sagging, IMO,I would spend less money and get the "new"JC leafs, and be done with it.
