New Truck

I posted this in the 2008 forum so hopefully no one minds the double post...I figure not everyone reads that forum...

if you want to see pics of my new truck CLICK HERE TO SEE THEM! they are here.

Got it at blackstock and it's a sweet ride!

Next time we have a meet up hopefully I can take the day off and show it off

I've yet to fill it, I'm at 1/4 of a tank (just under) and I have 810KM's on the odometer. The owner manual says milage is worse for the first 2000KM's so we shall see, this is my first brand new vehicle so I'm trying to follow the book here...it says to vary the speed a lot (I drive mostly highway so that's difficult so I've been passing and what not to try and keep from doing 120 w/ cruise on) not to mention I drive on the 407 50% of the time...average speed is 140+ which the truck handles nicely...although I'm thinking not so good on the fuel.

Anyway I'm estimating 1000KM's per 120L so 12L/100KM...not bad for a 5.4L but I don't do much 'city' driving...and I don't have anything particularly heavy in the bed yet.

I've had a few cars I liked to show on Sunday nights that I attempted to daily drive ( I think I lost about 20 years off my life from the stress ).

The only parking lot I'm worried about is the one where I work...but (Randy don't read this) I just tell myself if something bugs me about the truck I'll trade it back in and get a new one when my lease is up. Hopefully not...but even the stone chips drive me nuts on my BMW...

Oh and it's already got 1400KM's on it and I haven't had it for a week...don't think I'm doing too good on my KM management...lol.

Happy to report though I've used the bed several times this week, so I'm not just another guy driving around with nothing in the bed ;D

I always laugh about those modular Triton 5.4L engines. My truck has an FT 330 HD which is a 5.4L.

My father-in-law took 3 months to get his 08 Chev up to the 1000km mark.

I'm at 1650 now...I'll hit 3000 by this time next week

I'm tempted to drive the BMW to save km's on the truck till it's sold but I don't want it dirty in case someone wants to come see it and I don't have time to clean it

If this project gets extended much more I might have to grab something cheap to put km's on or I'll be forced into buying the truck when it's all over lol.
